Each year the centre of Budapest is transformed into a magical Christmas shopper’s paradise full of market stalls, unique, handmade Christmas gifts, while the air is filled with the lovely smell of cinnamon pastries, sausages and mulled wine.

Soak up the Budapest Christmas sights and lights, listen to the free concerts near Cafe Gerbeaud, try some delicious warm street foods as you wander around this lovely market in the city centre of Budapest.

There are many free entertainments at the market too, with several folk concerts late afternoon or evenings, even on weekdays.

Each folk show starts at 8 pm in the evening. The folk dance show is from 8 pm to 9:45 pm (with 15 min intermission), performed in 2 shows. The first half of the show is approx. 40 min, then comes a 15 min break, followed by another approx. 40 min act.

When the Folk Dance Show has ended, you can opt for a Danube city cruise to continue your beautiful cultural night in Budapest.

Aranytiz Community & Cultural Center Budapest

You can book a folk show performance if you are visiting Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. Performances are almost every day from May to late October. The shows are performed by 3 of the best folk ensembles in Hungary. If you are interested in a specific folk ensemble please let us know. The tickets come in three categories: Category 1, Category 2 and Category 3

First-class tickets are the best seats to see the Hungarian Folk Show, second class tickets offer very good viewing, while 3rd class show tickets are with good views of the dance show.

The shows are in Aranytiz Cultural Center in the heart of Budapest on the Pest side. We will let you know in your confirmation of the ticket reservation on how you can get there. At your special request, we can give you a detailed itinerary (usually guests need to know the way from their hotel to the Folk Show venue).

You can also buy the folk show tickets in a night program package: Hungarian Folk Show followed by a 1.5 hour Danube cruise in the city.

Located in Budafok, citadel of the Hungarian wine culture with its unique wine cellar system, which was awarded the honourable title of “The town of grape and wine”.

The restaurant is established in a former wine cellar of the Budafok cellar system, and is more than just a restaurant where you can enjoy delightful and famous Hungarian dishes, but it also hosts special folklore programs.

Folk dance ensembles and a 5-member folk group deliver performances specially choreographed for this place, in the very centre of the restaurant called Theatre Hall.

The folklore program consists of three parts, the first two parts presenting Hungarian dances, while the third mainly gypsy dance and music.
